Middleton Railway holds community day

The Middleton Railway in Leeds is holding a community day on Saturday with free train rides for all.

A number of local community groups, including the Fire Brigade, the Greyhound Trust and the Friends of Middleton Park will show people what they do and how they can get involved.

The railway is the world’s oldest working railway and has been run by volunteers since 1960. Free train rides behind a vintage diesel locomotive will take place between 11am and 4pm and everyone is welcome.
